ABOUT
I grew up on the mean streets of Auchmithie, a small fishing village populated largely by retired middle class professionals on comfy pensions. It was this tough upbringing that prepared me for a life dedicated to disrupting the comfort of middle class professionals ever since.
Influenced largely by a grandfather who spent the war speeding about on motorcyles, collecting wild flowers, studying clouds, and peeling potatoes as punishment I decided to become a community filmmaker. Over the next 20+ years I have also been a social sciences lecturer, mental health support worker, and employability coordinator as well as running my own criminology school.
One of my favourite films is Lindsay Anderson's If.... starring Malcolm McDowell as a revolutionary schoolboy who, along with his mates, decide to tear down the whole stinking system.
And one of my favourite books is Nick Hayes' The Book of Trespass which reminds us that the land, rightfully, belongs to us all.
